Of Course I'm A Christian

We are called, each and every child of God, to be part of the Great Commission. If you are sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit, then He will bring people across your path to share Christ with. If you are like me, you have experienced time and time again people who respond with, “Of course I’m a Christian.”
A CHRISTIAN NATION
Many believe that since they were born in America that they are Christians. First of all, history says that this nation was started with the intention that religious freedom would be established with the hope of becoming a Christian nation under God. Sadly, history shows that there has never been a time when the majority of the United States was made up of true Bible-believing Christians.
NOT ALL CHRISTIANS ARE CHRISTIANS
It’s amazing how many cults and false religions claim they are Christians. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints wants to be considered as a Christian church, yet they teach that man, by following Mormonism and going through the temple rituals, can himself become a god.
The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, Jehovah’s Witnesses, want to be considered as Christian, yet they refuse to accept that Jesus Christ is the Son of God but the incarnation of Michael the archangel.
WHAT ABOUT CHRISLAM?
“Chrislam” is the merging of Christianity and Islam. It is neither Christianity nor Islam. True biblical Christianity does not allow for the worship of Jesus Christ and Allah at the same time. It is not Jesus and … you fill in the blank. It is not Jesus and Muhammed, or Jesus and Buddha, or even Jesus and humanism. True Islam would also reject the worship of Allah and Jesus Christ. The goal of Chrislam is to draw Christians away from Christ and His Word and place them under the influence of the Koran.
WHO DECIDES WHO IS A CHRISTIAN AND WHO ISN'T?
By definition, a Christian is one who follows the teachings and lifestyle of Jesus Christ the Son of God. They are His disciples. Ultimately God decides and through His Word so do we. Through rightly dividing the Word of God, we evaluate the fruit and the doctrine of any and all who claim to be a Christian or a Christian organization.
If they get Jesus wrong, it doesn't matter what they get right. He was not just a good man. He was not just a great teacher, preacher, or prophet of God. He was and will always be the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity!
He is the pre-existent One. John said, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” There was never a time when Jesus never was. He is not a created being as taught by the Jehovah's Witnesses.
He's the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end. He's the King of kings and the Lord of lords. He is the Creator and the sustainer. He is the fullness of the Godhead bodily. He is calmer of the storm. He is the Light of the World in the midst of darkness. He is the Rock that the builder's rejected, the chief cornerstone, the capstone, and the foundation on which we stand. He is my Saviour, my healer, and my deliverer. He is the author and the finisher of my faith. He is my soon coming King.
If Jesus is anything less than that, you, my dear friend, are not a Christian. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). Then you can say that you are a Christian.
