ACTS 15:1 – “AND CERTAIN MEN WHICH CAME DOWN FROM JUDAEA TAUGHT THE BRETHREN, AND SAID, EXCEPT YE BE CIRCUMCISED AFTER THE MANNER OF MOSES, YE CANNOT BE SAVED.”
THE LAW IN THE EPISTLES
Paul also takes a system’s approach in his use of “Law.” But the system implicit in Paul’s use of “Law” has different elements. Paul is concerned with the interaction between the revealed Moral Code and human nature.

ACTS 15:1 – “AND CERTAIN MEN WHICH CAME DOWN FROM JUDAEA TAUGHT THE BRETHREN, AND SAID, EXCEPT YE BE CIRCUMCISED AFTER THE MANNER OF MOSES, YE CANNOT BE SAVED.”
The phrase, “And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the Brethren,” presents the greatest crisis of the Early Church.
These “Certain men” from “Judaea,” were from the Mother Church in Jerusalem, but without the authority they claimed to have (Acts 15:24). Consequently, irrespective as to who they were, this gave them legitimacy and for all the obvious reasons. All of the original Twelve Apostles considered the Jerusalem Church their Church Home and attended there when they happened to be in the city. The weight of this credibility was awesome to say the least.

ACTS 20:28 – “TAKE HEED THEREFORE UNTO YOURSELVES, AND TO ALL THE FLOCK, OVER THE WHICH THE HOLY SPIRIT HATH MADE YOU OVERSEERS, TO FEED THE CHURCH OF GOD, WHICH HE HATH PURCHASED WITH HIS OWN BLOOD.”
The phrase, “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the Flock,” presents a double-barreled thrust.
First of all the word “heed” in the Greek Text is “prosecho,” and means “to be cautious about or to have regard.”
These Elders (Pastors) were first of all to be cautious about their own experience with the Lord. The Preacher of the Gospel can only give the people what is already in his own soul. Many have the erroneous idea that it is not so important respecting the consecration of the man of God, but only what he preaches.
